What are Defined Certificates of Sponsorship?
Defined CoS, or defined Certificates of Sponsorship are documents issued by the Home Office on a case-by-case basis to employers/sponsors that need it for applicants who will be making an entry clearance application from abroad.
This is where an application for entry clearance from outside of the UK which can then only be assigned to a Skilled Worker. Whereas you can for undefined Certification of Sponsorships for defined you cannot apply for an annual allocation. An application can only be applied when they require one. There is a validation period of three months for the Certification of Sponsorship by the start of the issue date. A sponsor will be completely responsible for the employees’ actions as soon as the Certification of Sponsorship is issued to them.
