What is a Fixed term contract?
- A fixed term contract is used for maternity, interim or a project that you are working for on a fixed period of time.
- Fixed term contract applies to employees if they have the following: an employment contract with the company that they are working for and they have a certain end date for the contract, or a specific completion of tasks like, a project.
- Some workers do not entitle as fixed-term employees if they have the following: have an agency contract and not a contract with the organisation that they work for, they are a trainee working on work experience placement or a student, they are working under an apprenticeship contract or an armed force member.
