What is Leave Management?

Leave management is defined as the process of managing employee leave and time-off requests in an unbiased, efficient, and accurate manner, as even employees need their fair share of recuperation time periodically to keep delivering productivity and efficiency at work. The HR staff and supervisors are the ones who are responsible for handling employee leave management.

A leave management system generally consists of a cloud-based multi-functional monitoring dashboard for the employees to view, update and manage their leaves and for the HR workforce staff to view and record employee data. The data pertaining to employees can be automatically updated and recorded by them, with their available leave balance showing on their dashboard. The leave management system also has a customizable approval system which consists of a streamlined workflow wherein managers can directly receive leave requests from their employees and approve / reject them at the click of a button. Modern leave management systems are also available with software integration functionality with other HR systems.
