What does mid-range wage mean?
Mid-range wage is the middle 50 percent in a given distribution, or sometimes the range between the twenty-fifth and seventy-fifth percentiles. In other words, 25 percent of salaries are lower than the lowest boundary of the mid-range, while 25 percent of salaries are higher than the highest boundary of the mid-range. The mid-range is used in statistical analysis of wages, and is also used in calculating median wage and the mean wage.
