What is diversity?
- Diversity covers a variety of different characteristics in a group of people. The characteristics could include making us unique and everything else, like, our skills, cognitive abilities and personality traits. As well as, things that help identify us, for example, gender, age, race, cultural background or sexual orientation.
What diversity is in a working place?
Diversity in a workplace you have to consider all the different characteristics that employees have or could have. In a workplace, there are protected characteristics, like, age, gender, sexual orientation and race. The other different diversity characteristic can be the following:
- Skills
- Talents
- Opinions
- Experiences
- Personalities
Some of the characteristics require the company's effort and protectiveness where they are less obvious, such as employees talent or personalities.
