What is the Generation Y?
Generation Y is the generation which was born between the years starting from early 1980s and early 2000s, even though there is no general consensus amongst experts on the starting and ending years. People representing the Generation Y are called as Millennials and are highly characterised by post-90s trends like the use of Internet and social media portals like Facebook and others. The Generation Y people have grown up in the Internet age as well as with the rise of devices and gadgets like smartphones and laptop computers, thereby generally being able to handle the evolving technology much better as compared to their older counterparts.
Gen Y members are generally ambitious and have ample self-confidence which sometimes can be mistaken for borderline arrogance. Millennials are generally well-connected with their friends and family, are generally well adapted to facing challenges and expect high returns from their ventures. They aim for a work-life balance in their careers as well as look to attain high-powered, high-achieving careers.
