What is the Generation Z
Generation Z or Gen Z is the generational group of people born between 1995 and 2012. They belong to a generation that is global and technological to the fullest, and thus are the most connected, educated and aware generation. Gen Z members drive the socio-cultural dynamics of today’s global society: the trends, brand influences, social media, etc. Gen Z people are creating and driving the future.
Gen Z people have been born in a time of tremendous global change and paradigm shifts in the global socio-cultural landscape. With the world being affected by environmental change, global recession, incidents of terrorism, the Gen Z people are expected to lead the world into an era of positive social and economic renewal.
Gen Z people have been highly influenced by social media, strive for a work-life balance in their careers and look for autonomy and space in all their relations. Due to these characteristics the members of the Gen Z are less likely to stick to a job for long. They are also heavily influenced by contemporary HR trends like diversity and all-inclusive workspace in the modern workplace. Gen Z people do not harbour any ethnic predilections, show high levels of attributional complexity which contributes to making a workplace and its management less culturally biased.
